The Baby Shower Gift Poem

A poem is one of the best ways of expressing your feelings about something that's happening in life. And that just might explain why poems are such a big part of today's baby showers. If you've been wondering how to incorporate poems into an upcoming special event like a baby shower, then read on. Here you'll learn all about the baby shower gift poem.

What is a baby shower gift poem?

If you've ever shopped for baby gifts you've probably seen at least one baby shower gift poem. They're those adorable little sayings that are sometimes included with the gift. Typically inscribed using a fancy script font and printed on frilly-edged pastel-colored card stock, these baby-inspired poems make great keepsakes. Most moms-to-be add these baby shower mementos to their baby's scrapbook.

Sometimes the gift you choose doesn't include a baby shower gift poem. But that's not a problem because anyone can create these great gift accompaniments. Even if you're not a poet or the crafty type, this is one project you can tackle with ease. A quick search on the Internet reveals more baby-inspired poems than you can imagine.

Simply find one you like and retype the words into your word processor. If you'd rather, you can come up with your own words. Then all you do is change the font, load your printer with decorative card stock and print. For a truly professional look, cut along the poem's borders using decorative craft scissors. In minutes you've created your very own personalized baby shower gift poem to include with your gift!

The next interpretation of the baby shower gift poem is one the mother-to-be gives her guests. This time however, the poem is created after the shower has ended. When used this way, the baby shower gift poem acts as or is incorporated into the Thank You notes the expectant mother sends her guests. These poems can be purchased or hand-crafted but either way, it's a wonderful way to show your appreciation.

Decorating the Nursery for Your New Baby

Becoming a parent is one of the most important and exhilarating experiences of your life. Along with this wonderful event comes increased expenses, adding to your family budget. There's the initial investment for baby furniture and the ongoing expenses as your child grows.

If you're on a budget, you'll be looking for ways to keep your expenses to a minimum. Most of the items you will need for a new nursery can be purchased new or used. If you're interested in purchasing used items, be sure to take a few weekends and attend yard sales in your area. Many people sell their baby furniture and accessories when they know they will not be having more children. Make a point of checking the item(s) out closely to ensure nothing is broken or compromised that could be a danger for your baby.

Be sure to check eBay before spending money on new items. You can find new purchases the buyer did not use being sold in their original packaging for a fraction of the original cost. Thrift and Dollar stores are another good resource.

Of course you'll want to give the baby's room a cheerful new look. Painting the room is much cheaper than decorating with wall paper. If you find a wall paper that you like, consider using it as a room border to keep the cost down. Before investing in the least expensive paint, do a little research. Using a more expensive product could mean less expense on the long-term because you won't have as many touch ups to cover wear and tear. Cheaper paint is made with cheaper products and requires more work to keep it looking fresh.

If you have decided not to know the baby's gender in advance, you have a little more of a decorating challenge. But since we're not only decorating with blue and pink today, you still have a whole rainbow of colors to choose from. You could go with the soft and soothing colors of green, blue and yellow. These could be used to paint soft and lovely scenes on the walls and/or the ceiling. Think of clouds, sky, nature, sunrise, sunset, balloons or even animals.

When you find baby furniture you like, you can select matched pieces or go for individual pieces that match in style. You'll need a crib, changing table and a dresser. Extras you may want to consider include a cradle, rocking chair for mom and dad, a dresser and a nightstand with a lamp. Natural wood tones are nice when you don't know the baby's gender as painted furniture is usually gender specific.

Many of the furniture sets today are convertible to grow with your child. The crib turns into a toddler bed, etc. This will save money in the younger years until you have to invest in furniture to get through the teen years. Look into the dressers that have a detachable changing table. These sit on top of the dresser and should be at a comfortable height for you when standing in front of it. The top of the changing area should be just below your arms to reduce back strain.

Don't forget to think about making the nursery comfortable for you and dad, also. You'll be spending a lot of time in there and will need a large blanket or afghan for you to use late at night and on cold days. Consider a CD player or radio in the nursery that will be beneficial to both the baby and parents. Creating a comfortable environment for mom, dad and the baby will help create those special memories while getting to know each other.

Crystal Portrait Keepsake - Unique And Priceless Laser Crystal Portrait Gift

Crystal Portrait Keepsakes has come a long way. Retailers now offer their customers the option to have their very own photo engraved inside a crystal. As Crystal Portrait Keepsakes become more and more popular, its uniqueness is gradually diminishing. However, the flexibility of designing your crystal is still available. It is up to the customer to make their Crystal Portrait Keepsakes unique and priceless.

Follow these three basic steps in designing your own Crystal Portrait Keepsakes [http://www.emjeeonline.com/cat_laser_engraved_crystal_portraits.cfm].

Step 1. Establish a Theme. Instead of pulling out a photograph from your photo album, try to establish a theme for your Crystal Portrait Keepsake. The theme can be an anniversary, wedding, graduation, favorite sport, profession, movie, etc. The most popular theme for Crystal Portrait Keepsakes is anniversary. It's actually an excellent combination for 15th Anniversary Gift. However, any occasion would do well.

Step 2. Review Sources. Skim through your photos, memorabilia, year books, greeting cards, etc. Basically anything you have that you feel would have some information related to your theme. Separate the sources directly related to the theme you have selected. These sources are the key in making your Crystal Portrait Keepsakes absolutely unique and priceless.

Step 3. Brainstorm a Design. Review the sources gathered from Step 2. Try to narrow them down. Depending on the amount of sources gathered, chances are, you could not use all of them for your Crystal Portrait Keepsake design. So narrow it down. It is helpful to narrow down while brainstorming designs for your crystal portrait.

It is also important to make note of the size of the crystal portrait. The more text(s) or image(s) you include may sacrifice the crystal engraving quality. These three basic steps should give you sufficient information to design and create your very own unique and priceless Crystal Portrait Keepsakes gift.
