Unique Baby Gift Ideas - Baby Handprint Footprints Frames Make Great Keepsakes

A baby handprint can be an awesome baby keepsake. Baby albums and baby photo frames also come in handy when deciding upon that perfect souvenir for the new born baby.

Baby handprints come in a lot of materials, and can be designed in a number of ways. You can also design handprint frames. The most unique and distinctive material used for manufacturing of baby handprints is clay. Clay has been used for centuries for making mementoes and is particularly easy to work with. Besides, with handprints, clay is an obvious choice. Clay is also preferred because they have a longer impression life and the prints come out naturally once the base dries up.

To preserve the handprints or the photographs of baby handprints is more important than getting the handprint done. You don't want to loose the baby handprint photograph two or three years down the line. Therefore, you must preserve it in a neat and tidy baby photo frame. If you have a whole collection of baby handprints or footprints, you can also create a baby album, where you can preserve the whole collection altogether. In most cases, making baby albums rather than sorting pictures in photo frames turns out to be a more viable option. Albums allow you to carry a large number of photographs along with you to share with family and friends, which is not always possible in the case of a photo frame as it becomes tedious to carry it along.

Baby name plates are also a great way to personalize your baby keepsakes. A name plate bears the name of the baby and is particularly useful if you have more than one child. You can give each of them their respective nameplates and ask them to put it on their bed-room doors or their living areas. This brings a sense of belonging in these babies. Plates come in many shapes, sizes and forms. They are made of numerous materials, from steel to gold and ceramics. Baby name plates can also be customized to the extent you want, from a 'one of its kind' name plate to those that are mass produced and seen at many baby gift showrooms.

Ceramic is the relatively new material that is being used to make baby name plates these days. Ceramic is one material that can really give your name plate a 3D-edge, which could be so much more than the regular name plate. Using ceramic has a flip side too, and it is not too difficult to guess that either- ceramic is prone to breaking off easily. Therefore, you need to be extra careful with ceramics and make sure that the name plate is planted at a safe distance from you toddler. In the event of breakage also, make sure that your baby doesn't go anywhere near the broken pieces, and remove them at once, else it might lead your baby into injuring its feet or hands by walking over broken ceramic pieces.

So, there you have it, from hand prints to baby album, baby photo frames and baby nameplates, you can choose a lot to customize your keepsakes.
