Babyprints Keepsake Kit - Black Frame Review

I have ordered two of these frames (the 1st in 2/09 and the 2nd in 4/09). Both arrived undamaged and in perfect condition, but unfortunately, the frames are different sizes! Apparently in the 2 month gap between my ordering, the packaging was redone as was the frame. The 1st frame came in a brown, open-style box around the frame and had minimal padding. The 2nd came in a completely closed aqua colored box, wrapped in bubble wrap. The style of the frames are the same (simple black), but the newer frame is quite smaller than the previous one (about an inch or so).
The putty that is included is easy to use, but does seem a bit hard. I felt I had to push very hard to get my daughter's footprint to look halfway decent (she was 1 week at the time). It does dry with a "rubbery" like texture, but it gets the job done and was easy to rework to get the footprint image I wanted. I would give the product itself 5 stars, but I really wanted the frames to match and would not have ordered the 2nd one had I known about the size difference. If you're just buying 1 or don't have an older frame that you are trying to match, it is a good product at a good price.

SO EASY!! - J. Pate - Waco, TX USA
This was amazingly easy to do. You just need to roll it out and press your baby's foot into it. THAT'S IT!! No goop or sticky wetness. I loved that I could redo it because there were some times when my baby wanted to move her toes in strange ways when I was trying to make the imprint. It dried nicely and there is a nice frame to add a picture. Definitely worth the price. I ordered 4 as Christmas gifts and everyone loved em. I highly recommend this easy to do keepsake.

Perfect! - S. Heath - Sherbrooke, QC Canada
This product was wonderful! I gave it as a gift to my parents for Grandparents Day. Very easy to use and easy to assemble. I definitely recommend this product.

Great product! - S.W. -
I'm really glad I disregarded the negative reviews (which comprised 25% of the reviews when I bought this item). The product arrived in great condition. The frame looks really nice, and the molding material was easy to work with. It's incredibly light too! My only regret is that I waited so long to get it. My son was six months old when we made his footprint. It would have been MUCH easier to make that footprint when he was, say, six weeks old!

Junk - Toyota 4 X - Tucson, Az
opened the box and the frame was falling apart had to glue it back together. Just anther cheap product.

Child to Cherish Handprints Tower Of Time Kit

Child to Cherish Handprints Tower Of Time Kit

A great keepsake but messy,
Such a great keepsake idea! Being able to duplicate my daughter's little handprint for her first 5 years is wonderful and will definitely be something I can look back on and also share with her when she's older. I only give it 4 stars because I found the plaster to be very difficult to work with. I knew going into it it'd be messy but trying to get a good handprint took a LONG time. The instructions say once you pour the plaster into the tin to immediately attempt an imprint...good luck with that! I didn't even use all the plaster (per a recommendation in the directions) and it was still a very sticky consistency. I tried several times to imprint my daughter's hand but each time I pulled her hand away, the mixture came with it and I was left with a horrible elevated blob. Ready to give up, and tired of pushing her little hand into the mess over and over, then washing her hand over and over, I ended up just letting the plaster-filled tin sit on the counter for about 20 minutes until it got firmer, almost like a damp clay. I pressed her hand in for one last attempt and it actually came out really nice! At least I'll know what to expect when she turns 2 and we do it all over again. I would recommend this to everyone, but just be aware what you're in for especially if you've never worked with plaster before.
