Tym samym szlakiem będą teraz podróżować turyści poznając po drodze królewskie pamiątki. Na szlaku leży również Sandomierz. Dziś miasto otrzymało certyfikat Stowarzyszenia Miast "Szlak Jagielloński". To temu miastu król Władysław Jagiełło podarował niezwykły relikwiarz Drzewa Krzyża Świetego zdobyty w bitwie pod Grunwaldem. Królewskim darem jest też obraz "Trzy Święte", a pamiątką po Królowej Jadwidze, żonie króla Władysława są przechowywane w Muzeum Diecezjalnym jej rękawiczki. --- Sandomierz News from November 9, 2009. The Jagellonian Route is a route between Vilnius and Cracow used by kings, traders and artists. 600 years ago Władysław Jagiełło used to travel this way from Vilnius to Cracow. It's the same route tourists will now travel sightseeing the royal keepsakes. Sandomierz is on the route, too. Today the city has recieved a certificate from the association of cities named "Jagellonian Route". This is the city King Władysław Jagiełło gave the exquisite reliquary of the Holy Cross captured in the Battle of Grunwald. The picture titled "Three Saints" is a royal gift, too, and the gloves of Queen Jadwiga, wife of king Władysław are kept in the Diocesan Museum as her keepsake.

Edward Theodore "Ed" Gein (pronounced /ˈɡin/; August 27, 1906 July 26, 1984) was an American murderer and grave robber. His crimes, which he committed around his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin, garnered widespread notoriety after authorities discovered Gein had exhumed corpses from local graveyards and fashioned trophies and keepsakes from their bones and skin. After police found body parts in his house in 1957, Gein confessed to killing two women: tavern owner Mary Hogan in 1954, and a Plainfield hardware store owner, Bernice Worden, in 1957. Initially found unfit to stand trial, following confinement in a mental health facility, he was tried in 1968 for the murder of Worden and sentenced to life imprisonment, which he spent in a mental hospital. The body of Bernice Worden was found in Gein's shed; her head and the head of Mary Hogan were found inside his house. Robert H. Gollmar, the judge in the Gein case, wrote: "Due to prohibitive costs, Gein was tried for only one murder--that of Mrs. Worden."[1] Because Gein was only found guilty of murdering Worden, he did not meet the technical definition of a serial killer.[2] Regardless, his real-life case influenced the creation of several fictional serial killers, including Norman Bates from Psycho, Jame Gumb from The Silence of the Lambs, and Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Balmy Childhood Days Visiting My Dad in Denver, Colorado

After my parents divorced, my father took a full time position with the Air National Guard in Denver, Colorado. Per the custody arrangement, I was to spend one month with him in the summer and alternating holidays, but my mother was pretty soft hearted and the divorce was amiable, so my father and I were able to spend as much time with each other as we wanted. I remember one summer, when I was about four years old, when I went down for a month-long visit.

My dad lived in the suburb of Aurora, and as I remember it, he lived in an apartment complex in a relatively new development. I remember the conspicuous lack of trees, which is odd for that part of Colorado, and I also remember it being rather hot. While my dad was at work, I was left to be babysat by one of the families in the neighborhood, and I had some grand adventures with some of the other children in the apartment complex.

Being new construction in the midst of ongoing construction, I remember an area nearby that was a bit of a wetland. I have no idea if that's what it originally was, but there was a consistent puddle there at the time, and we were able to fish for craw fish using nothing more than a piece of string and some leftover bacon from breakfast. I'm sure by now the spot has been paved over and a few different things built on it, but at the time, it was a fun way to stay refreshed on a hot Colorado afternoon.

Old-fashioned Letters

The methods of communication were limited in the past, so letters were the easiest way to relate messages, thoughts, and feelings. We still use letters today, possibly because we feel that we can express ourselves more freely with words when done on paper or through email. Whatever the case may be, it still feels wonderful to receive a handwritten letter. It is a personal keepsake that we can cherish and treasure.

At the mere age of 6, Harry Truman met Bess Wallace in Sunday School. Though they attended school together until they graduated high school, they didn't become more than acquaintances. For over a year Harry and Bess went their separate ways. Harry decided to move and it happened to be only 20 miles away from Bess.

He began to court her through letters, and after a year he asked for her hand in marriage, but she initially turned him down. It was difficult for him to win her love. She was from a wealthy family and was expected to marry someone who had better prospects and a planned future. Though he entered into a series of business ventures, they ended in disappointment.

Harry joined a Missouri National Guard in World War I and trained for combat. He gained respect and acknowledgment for his leadership skills and courage under fire when he took charge over a unit known for rowdy behavior and refusal to take orders. Truman kept Bess close to his heart by carrying her picture in his breast pocket and writing to her daily. His spirits were uplifted by her promise to marry him when he returned.

Over 1300 letters that Harry wrote to Bess survive in the Truman Library collections. Unfortunately, most of the letters she wrote to him have been lost. Throughout their courtship and marriage, writing letters remained a constant form of communication. Below are a few excerpts from different letters Harry wrote to Bess.

November 4, 1913:

"It doesn't seem real that you should care for me. I have always hoped you would but some way feared very much you wouldn't. You know, I've always thought that the best man in the world is hardly good enough for any woman. But when it comes to the best girl in all the universe caring for an ordinary gink like me--well, you'll have to let me get used to it. I've always said I'd have you or no one and that's what I mean to do. I'm all puffed up and hilarious and happy and anything else that happens to a fellow when he finds his lady love thinks more of him than the rest of the beasts."

November 19, 1913:

"I know your last letter word for word and then I read it some forty times a day. I could die happy doing something for you. Since I can't rescue you from any monster or carry you from a burning building or save you from a sinking ship--simply because I'd be afraid of the monster, couldn't carry you, and can't swim--I'll have to go to work and make money enough to pay my debts and then get you to take me for what I am: just a common everyday man whose instincts are to be ornery, who's anxious to be right. You'll not have any trouble getting along with me for I'm awful good-natured, and I'm sure we'd live happy ever after sure enough."

July 14, 1917:

"I'm dead crazy to ask you to marry me before I leave, but I'm not going to because I don't think it would be right for me to ask you to tie yourself to a prospective cripple--or a sentiment."

January 2, 1934:

"I'm lonesome and thinking of you and writing you instead of going to a show. I got disgusted last night because I didn't have your hand to hold (that's all I go to shows for anyway) and left, so I didn't try any tonight."

On their 16th Wedding Anniversary:

"This is the day sixteen years ago that I made a plunge and took a chance for which I have been a better man. My only regret is that it was not done ten years sooner. I've never had but one golden-haired, blue-eyed sweetheart and she's still the same blue-eyed, but now maybe silver-haired, sweetheart and just as perfect and as beautiful as I dreamed of when I was ten and twelve and sixteen."

February 10, 1937:

"I never had but one [love] from the time I was six and a half to date, and maybe that's more foolishness according to modem standards, but I'm crazy enough to stay with it through all eternity."

June 28, 1944:

"Guess I'm just a damned, sentimental old fool. I've always had you on a pedestal and despite the fact that you try to climb down sometimes, and I don't blame you for trying, I'm not going to let you. From Sunday school days, to the Senate, to World War II you are just the same to me--the nicest, prettiest girl in the world."

Though Harry and Bess were romantically linked by letters, they aren't just for your significant others. Handwritten letters can leave an impact on anyone because the thought and effort put into them is clearly seen. Certainly, it may take a bit more time to prepare and send a handwritten letter, but it's definitely more personable and the sincerest way to communicate.

First Holy Communion Celebration

In the tradition of Catholicism, a child's First Holy Communion is a time for celebration. In many families, the Mass is followed by a luncheon at the family's home or perhaps meeting in a restaurant for a late morning or early afternoon brunch, depending on which church service you attended for that day.

Getting Started
Do you like going to parties or showers? Do color schemes excite you? If so, then this business is for you. The main idea to creating a party favor is keeping the occasion in mind. Usually, your customer will choose the color scheme they desire, but just in case you are asked to suggest something, keep in mind the occasion, time of day and the season of the year.

The key to a great favor is neatness. No one wants to hand out favors that are messy, falling apart or just down right dirty. As a favor specialist, your attention to detail is a must. All favors you create must be closely identical to each other. This is the beauty of a keepsake. They all look alike. You don't want the guest to fight over which one they want to pick up. Glue gun - does not have to be high powered. I bought mine for less than $5 and it still works!
Glue Sticks
Candy - individually wrapped
Tulle
Small rubber bands (preferably black)
You will need a store where you can order your printed ribbons and tulle in various colors. There are many online places if you do not know of a supplier in your area. Simply google: printed ribbons, personalized ribbons or ribbons for keepsakes

How to deal with clients?
Be very specific with client orders. Have clients write down their colors, the amount and all specifics name and date on an order pad. Clients are easily quieted if they see their own instructions written down. Verify spelling, date and all other pertinent information. Once ribbons are printed they can not be redone without incurring additional expense.

How do I make a price list?
Excellent question! What is the sense of having a business if it is not profitable? You have to make a price list and stick to it. The most efficient way to make a pricelist is to know how much your expenses are. As an average rule of thumb, I add anywhere from .50 to $1.00 to each favor after, I've calculated the expense of the favor.

How to organize your favors?
In the beginning, you may only offer a few favors. Organize ribbons, by color, type and size. Decorate a colored post board (the one kids use for science projects) with the various favors you offer. Place your business name at the top. Glue actual favors or pictures of the favors onto the post board using a hot glue gun from your supplies.
